Clinic For Struggling Homeowners - Saturday, 1/17/2009
Homeowners who are struggling to make their mortgage payments may be able to get the help they need from a little-known local resource: The Housing Opportunities Collaborative. Here is their website: http://hocnetwork.squarespace.com/ They provide lots of services for homeowners but these days one of the most important services they offer is their clinics where homeowners who are struggling with their payments can go and get free, professional advice from real estate attorneys and HUD-approved counselors. The commercial lenders themselves often attend as well providing direct help to their customers.
There is a lot of information out there about what lenders, the government and private organizations are doing to help homeowners. These clinics are well-run and bring all of the resources together in one place. If you are struggling don’t miss it.
